Q. Alko safety is a leading manufacturer and supplier of personal protection, safety, emergency and fire safety equipment. Please share some of your milestones & achievements?
ALKO PLUS® is a brand name that spells Personal Protective Equipment in a unique way. We basically started our enterprise in the year 2009 with the production of Industrial Safety Helmets and Safety Harness in a small setup based in New Delhi. Within a time span of 5 years we have increased our product portfolio to “head to toe” safety equipment which now includes Safety helmets, Safety harness, Safety footwear, Reflective Safety Jackets, and Safety Nets.
Q. Could you brief us about the overall business activites of your company?
ALKO PLUS® is a brand that takes great pride in its ability to deliver the following magnificent product range with an all-round assurance of safety to its user. We have been authorized by the Bureau of Indian Standards to manufacture ISI marked safety helmets, safety harness and safety footwear. Today ALKO PLUS® has a 50,000 sq. ft. manufacturing setup in Bahadurgarh (Haryana) and New Delhi, and team of 90 plus workforce with a strong dealer-distributor network throughout the nation. We proudly run an enterprise where all products are manufactured in-house from the scratch, it is entirely vertically integrated, and hence unique in its own kind.
Q. Can you elaborate more on the product portfolio & its applications?
Basically, the PPEs that we manufacture, namely safety helmets, safety harness, safety footwear, reflective jackets and safety nets, are used by the people for personal protection in the construction industry. With the increase in awareness in the past decade, these products have been made mandatory for use by the workforce in all the manufacturing and service sector industries. We believe that in any production house, irrespective of the number of workers working in it, life of every being should be secured because there is somebody always waiting for him/her at his/her home.
Q. What are the some of your pioneering products you introduced the market recently or is there any plan to launch new products?
We have recently launched the Polyurethane (PU) range of safety shoes which includes ISI approved models. This range is manufactured in the Haryana unit of the group and has earned immense positive response from the ever growing safety industry of the country. We further plan to introduce safety eyewear and notified CE approved range of safety harness, safety helmets and safety footwear in the coming months.
Q. What are your strategies to imrove alko plus’ position in the indian & global market?
Since our arrival in the Indian Safety Industry, we have been known for our after sales service and trust that we maintain with our channel partners. We aim to develop Quick Reaction Teams at various levels of the nation which can take care of the customers’/end users’ queries in respect of technical education, ordersfulfillment, complaints handling and timely delivery of products from the factory. We also aim to develop skilled marketing force which can understand the mood of the industry and cater to the customers in a more efficient manner. We are planning to enter the Global market of PPEs in the beginning of 2016.
Q. What are the factors affecting your business?
The entire ALKO PLUS® group is governed by the principle vision of “Moving ahead and securing life of the worker with quality product and trust amongst each other”. This vision has been shown by our Chairman Mr. G.K. Garg who never compromised on quality of the product and laid stress on maintaining the trust and faith not only with the channel partners but also with the workers in the factory. This has empowered us always to move ahead with confidence and helped us to increase our network pan India.
Q. What are the key technological trends that are driving the personal protection industry?
The PERSONAL PROTECTION INDUSTRY is still in its nascent stage in INDIA because the value of human life is still below the required level. Providing safety to our man force entails an additional expense, forcing the safety measures to take a back seat. However, in the past years, we have witnessed an increase in awareness about the Personal Protection amongst the masses with a help of growing media and other modes of communication.
Q. What is your vision for alko plus?
Becoming a nationwide leader in (all-round) in-house manufacturing of personal protection equipment of high quality, leaving no chance of failure of product.
